Reap What You Sow

Getting old is probably one of the biggest misunderstood things in life. The fact that "you're not that young anymore" is only a blessing. You've lived through your youth, lived through your young adult days, and now you're more mature than the high school version of yourself you might still identify with at times. Being able to see your kids have their kids is a blessing not all people get a chance to experience.

I was booked for a Candid Moments photography session for a really cool family's Thanksgiving Dinner. The theme of the party was not turkey, or the abundance of food, or the kids being off of school for a week.

It was the grandparents.

The grandmother was a lively lady. Very active and vocal. Very loving of her old man, and you could tell she was cherishing the moment.

The grandfather has the face and grace of a chiseled veteran of life. A hard working man that went through life taking care of his family. And now that he needs a little help, his family is returning the favor.

The grandpa, with the help of his kids and grandkids, stood for pictures and posed like a pro until the cumbersome photographer figured out what direction to bounce the flash best, ha.

Once the posed pictures were out of the way, food became the the priority.

The little man did NOT take his eyes off the bird once it was revealed.

Not. One. Blink.

The kids alertly monitoring the process.

The princess wasn't allowing pictures of herself until food was offered.

Saying grace.

Feeling much better after the food.

I was invited to take pictures of this beautiful family, and in doing my job, I was given the opportunity to capture special moments that will last them a life time. When these babies are grown and can read this, they'll be able to see how this thanksgiving went in 2016...and I'm the guy that captured these moments. What an incredible thing to be able to say.

I wish I had some of these memories with my great grandparents, and I'm honored that I was allowed into their home to be able to take these pictures and call this "work." If you would like to enjoy your special day, and not worry about taking pictures or video, feel free to go over to the "book online" tab, or call 956-462-0402, to book your day.
